10 titles for a rainbow phoenix - Guild Wars Forums

Don't you love the rainbow phoenix? I've managed to get three out of the four EotN reputation titles for my elementalist and I need ten titles in total for the Rainbow Phoenix. My elementalist isn't the only one getting the title, my ranger is also going for ten titles, although the goal for the ranger is much harder but has better synergy (although I do admit that Joko's Domain happens to be the hardest area to vanquish). So here are the ten titles I'm aiming for in both characters (bold indicates I manage to get it with the character):

Elementalist:
Asuran
Norn
Deldrimor
Ebon Vanguard
Skill hunter (in all three regions)
Sunspear
Lightbringer or Sweet Tooth

Ranger:
Cartographer (in all three regions)
Vanquisher (in all three regions)
Sunspear
Lightbringer or Drunkard or Party Animal

My elementalist is basically a "backup" character in case ANet decides to change the mechanics of Discordway (most of the EotN rep titles take little effort, but personally I find the Ebon Vanguard to be the hardest despite the presence of mega devourers).

I manage to obtain the Asuran and Norn by simply filling out Hero Handbooks HM (Deldrimor is by the Snowman lair). I'm getting the Ebon Vanguard by completely filling out a Hero Handbook (both NM and HM) and about 17 out of 18 pages (I am NOT filling the slaver exile one for obvious reasons).

On a side note, I did manage to get TexMod running two weeks ago, but now the laptop I use for Guild Wars crashed when I run guild wars. At first, I thought it was the fault of TexMod, but later examined it's the fault of the graphic card. It crashed so bad that the laptop cannot run at all (the power is on, but all it's left is a black screen). The laptop appeared baack to normal when I tried running the laptop again and I was able to use the laptop normally like checking the internet etc. But when I try running Guild Wars again, it crashed! I manage to get a new desktop, since desktops are usually more suited for gaming due to longer life expentacy (the laptop had a one year warranty >.< ).

In other words, I may not able to get the cartographer for my ranger (this is why I downloaded TexMod) for a while.

Anyways, which one of them seems to be the most challenging. And do you think I've chosen good titles to get a rainbow phoenix?

You don't actually need 10 titles, just 5 and a complete HoM.

Hell, the HoM doesn't even need to be *filled*, since my Valor was missing a couple of weapons at the time...

Well I could do the 5 titles and fill up the HoM and do account-wide. But then, I find the armor momument (despite managing to get 6 different elite armors, 4 from a mesmer, one from a dervish, one from my assassin) to be really expensive. Most of the minipets I get are from the birthday gifts, and I did happen to fill the one involving heroes and your pet :P. But personally, I find the ten titles way to be cheaper.

Work on titles for one character, add your rainbow phoenix to your zaishen menagerie then charm it on your other character.

That is how I was able to get the rainbow phoenix on my ranger.

If you are going to compare the goals between my elementalist and my ranger, which do you think is the easiest?

Since your elementalist already has 3 titles going that route may be quicker.

I would say, work towards your Ebon Vanguard, since this weekend is a double faction weekend.

Protector titles (mission/bonus in normal mode) help also. You get three titles there if you have Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall.

Same with Skill Hunter.

Sunspear / Lightbringer is also easy to complete with faction farming in Sulfurous Wastes.

Your elementalist is the best choice if you wanted to do it on one char and switch to account mode.

I however have acctually found my Ebon Vanguard Title more difficult then my protector titles. I finished Master of the north title and have yet to finish ebon vnaguard. I would say do canthan protector instead. Those missions if your a good player could be done in a day or two and could be less boring then grinding ebon vanguard.

Besides that I would reccomend lightbringer over sweet tooth because as someone else mentioned the cost isn't worth it.

That's probably faster than title farming for it.

That's probably a waste, you'd be better off spending 15 gold ZC for a heavy equipment pack (even though I bought 3 large ones, I can't remember why I did that).

What math is there to find out? Let's estimate one money title at 1mil, 10,000 drunk points for 100 a piece, we'll say.

We'll estimate destroyer weps at 25k each, which is way more than they're worth nowadaysx11 =275k

20 minipets, buy all the whites from year 1/2 for 2-4k each, We'll say 20 at 5k so 100k
375k so far

Buy the Eotn armors for 40k+mats, need 5 so well say 250k
600kish for a full HoM

Then do 5 crap titles for the title stand.

Protector titles are probably the easiest to get, and cost no money. Skill Hunters aren't too hard, but expensive at 1k per elite. In my opinion, the 10 easiest to get are:

1) Protector of Tyria
2) Protector of Cantha
3) Protector of Elona
4) Legendary Spearmarshall
5) Holy Lightbringer
6) Tyrian Elite Skill Hunter
7) Canthan Elite Skill Hunter
8) Elonian Elite Skill Hunter
9) Legendary Skill Hunter
10) Deldrimor/Asura/Norn/Ebon Vanguard

Since you already have some of them, you can easily fill in with others. Cartography is fairly long, even if you use Texmod, as you have to traverse the map anyway. Guardian isn't too bad, but some people struggle with the Masters/Bonus on missions in HM. Vanquishing is good to coop with Cartography/Skill Hunter, but again, some find it difficult. Sweet Tooth and Party Animal are EXTREMELY easy, but expensive.

But why you aren't getting Protectors is beyond me. EASY 3 titles.

I got the phoenix on my Monk and still haven't displayed any destroyer weapons. Didn't even have one at the time. Was this something that has changed since taming my phoenix?

Nvm... I got it at 10 titles. Didn't even know it was available at 5 titles with the other conditions met.

@ Deakon, no he is just talking about raising the rank of your HoM by 1, by filling everything, so you only need 5 maxed titles instead of 10. If you get 10 you don't need to fill anything.

@OP: My suggestion would be max your ele to 10 titles and cap it>zaishen menagerie> ranger has a nice rainbow Phoenix!

Titles that would be the quickest:
Asuran
Norn
Deldrimor
Ebon Vanguard
Sunspear & Lightbringer (sync with SS/LB farm inside the wurms)
Protector (all 3 continents)
Guardian (all 3 continents)
Gives you 13 maxed titles, can be done in a few weeks if you spend your time well, and can be done totaly free

I had a Rainbow Pheonix once, but it is so big and ugly, I dumped it soon after. If the only reason you are going for those titles is to get the RP, you may end up disappointed.

(I could get one again and put it in the managerie, but it would be big and ugly no matter what character it's on, so it would just stay in the menagerie.)

just got mine.

Basically 20 minis, the whole set of destroyer, although you can use torment too but alot more expensive for them, hero armor, 5 titles, and armor, armor is the most expensive. But with some you don't need the mask so it saves a bit.

The very cheapest way is 15 gold Z coins. That is if the wiki is correct. I have had 15 coins a couple times, and got the 20 slot bag. but even if you think you can sell the bag for 40 ecto or 25 ecto and 100K it is still a little cheaper than the filling the HoM. But not sure you will be getting those pirces for them right now as a lot of people are spamming them for sale now.
